Girolamo, italienischer katholischer Theologe, * Neapel 6. 10. 1492, ✝ Trient 17. 3. 1563; seit 1507 Augustinereremit; wurde 1524 Leiter der neapolitanischen Kongregation, 1539 Ordensgeneral, 1554 Erzbischof von Salerno, 1561 Kardinal; gehörte der humanistischen Reformbewegung an und war Anhänger eines christlichen Platonismus. Seine biblisch-augustinisch geprägte Rechtfertigungslehre floss in das Rechtfertigungsdekret des Konzils von Trient ein, dessen Legat er ab 1561 war.
